Overview

Take your instrumentation career to the next level from the comfort of your home! Our 12 week virtual course will give you the knowledge and hands-on practice you need to hire in as a Certified Instrument Technician.

This class will primarily take place live online for 11 weeks, and then you will be required to come to Baytown, TX (near Houston) to take the knowledge and hands-on exams during the 12th week. 

Travel expenses are not included in the class fee. 

Class includes evaluation for the NCCER Instrument Technician, both Hands-On and Knowlege Exams. First Knowledge exam is included in the course fee.

FAQs 

Do I need to bring anything to test?

Tools will be provided including hand tools, power tools, meters, and calibration equipment. You may want to bring a notebook and pen for taking notes.

Will you provide study materials?

The course takes place live online, and you will have direct access to the instructor. In addition, we have study guides and quizzes you can use on your phone or computer to study at home.

Students will also be given access to our private class Discord chat, where you can connect with instructors and classmates to ask questions.

What if I don't pass the exams?

 The hands-on portion of the exam is ongoing, and the instructors will evaluate you and make corrections when necessary. We don’t leave any student behind and will keep workiing with you until you have a full understanding and are able to complete the hands-on portion.

The Knowledge exam is a proctored online test, administered by a Certified Evaluator and will be taken at our facility. If you don’t pass, you will be given the opportunity to retest after 24 hours, but you will have to pay for an additional test fee.

Payment Options

Flexible payment options are available! Put $500 down to hold your seat and then pay 10 weekly payments of $200. Class must be paid in full before testing.

Requirements

  • Students should have 1 year of plant experience, preferably as an instrument fitter or helper
  • Internet connection is needed during class times.
  • You will need a Discord account, if you don’t have one the link will prompt you to create one.
  • You will need to be physically present for testing in the final week. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the student.
